We received our prize puppets in the mail and have been having so much fun with them. We’ve set up a permanent shadow puppet area in the classroom, so that we can put on shows whenever we want. Thank you Owly Shadow Puppets and Orange Moon Toys for the wonderful opportunity to share our work and for the beautifully constructed puppets. This entire experience has been phenomenal!
Our prize winning shadow puppet shows were shown at the Chicago’s Children’s Theater.
Following is a note from Kim Koin, the Lead Educator and Developer of Visual Arts at the museum:
“We had approximately 85 people come up and explore shadow puppets- kids had tons of fun learning how to manipulate light and shadow to create a character and watching how other children took shadow puppet shows to a whole new level through your shorts! I think we also had a lot of adults realize how easy it is to do shadow puppets at home. I talked to one 2nd grade girl about the shorts your students’ made, and she says she hopes she can make a show with her friends too!”
